TEC Quality recommended for
UKAS accreditation

TEC Quality are pleased to announce that they have been recommended for accreditation by UKAS – the UK’s National Accreditation Service. UKAS are the organisation that quality assess assessment bodies and are responsible for determining, in the public interest, the integrity of organisations such as those offering certification services.
Paul Finch, TEC Quality scheme manager comments: “As our Quality Standards Framework seeks to drive quality in Technology Enabled Care it seemed only right that we ourselves are measured against similarly high standards.
“The UKAS process started back in the spring of 2018 and has touched on every aspect of our business, from finance through to HR and marketing. The work involved in achieving this standard has been intensive but the reward of being officially recognised as the leading provider of Technology Enabled Care quality certification is more than worth the effort.”
Upon this recommendation UKAS will now submit TEC Quality’s audit to be approved by an independent decision maker. Following ratification of the decision to grant accreditation, which usually takes around 12 weeks, TEC Quality will be listed on the UKAS website and awarded full accreditation.
Louise Sanders, UKAS Development Project Manager commented: “I’d like to congratulate everyone at TEC Quality on this achievement and for all of their hard work. Well done.”
Alyson Scurfield, Chief Executive at the TEC Services Association adds: “The TSA drew up the Quality Standards Framework back in 2017 and made the decision to set up TEC Quality as an independent run subsidiary, with the sole purpose of auditing and certifying against our QSF standards and the development of the same.
“The UKAS recommendation is proof that TEC Quality is fully impartial in its operation – focussed on enhancing standards and developing these in line with the continually emerging TEC landscape.”
TEC Quality accreditation will be confirmed on an annual basis by surveillance visits with a full re-assessment every four years.
Further information will be released over the following weeks.
