TEC Quality completes board appointments

Hot on the heels of the appointment of David Pearson CBE as the new TEC Quality chair we have now confirmed board positions for Professor George Crooks OBE and Helen White, CEO of Chester Voluntary Action.
Professor George Crooks is currently the Chief Executive of the Digital Health and Care Institute, Scotland’s national innovation centre for digital health and care.
George comments on his appointment: “Technology Enabled care, as the new kid on the block, in the complex world of health and care, continues to gain traction as one of the critical enablers that will help secure, accessible and sustainable health and care services into the future.
“To maximise the opportunities and derive the maximum benefits from the use of digital tools and services requires a strong focus on quality. We must ensure that current and future services are not only, safe, effective and efficient but they are also timely and person centred. Through their presence, they should assist the achievement of equity of access to services for all those in need. My aspiration is through the work of TEC Quality we can embed quality and quality improvement at the heart of our future service planning and delivery activities.”
Helen is currently CEO of Chester Voluntary Action, chair of the Knowsley Housing Trust and the Wales Regulatory Board, which examines the regulatory performance and activity of the Welsh Government and the housing sector. Helen brings wide experience in communications, leadership and management.
Helen comments: “I’m thrilled to have been appointed to the TEC Quality Board at a time when technology enabled care is transforming lives across the UK. The TEC Quality Board will play an important role in making sure technology providers are delivering excellent solutions that reach the industry benchmark of safety and quality. I look forward to providing both challenge and support to providers at a time when the need for technology to support independence has never been greater.”
